STOW - Timothy Michael Smith, 52 of Stow, Maine died peacefully with his family by his side after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born in Brookline, MA a son of Francis and Carolyn Hayes Smith and was educated in Medway schools. He had been employed by New Suncook School in Lovell for many years. His last job was for working for Dearborn Corporation in Fryeburg.
Tim will be remembered by many for his hobbies and his smarts. Tim was a life long learner and was always excited to share what he'd learned with his kids and his wife. He enjoyed working in his garden, photography, sports, camping, hiking, writing and he loved fixing anything that was broken. Tim had a gift of being able to strike up a conversation with anyone he met. He had a very witty sense of humor that was contageous.
He is survived by his wife Sherry Smith of Stow; three sons Kenneth Smith of Stow, Martin Smith of Fryeburg' and Frederick Smith of Stow; one daughter Christine Smith of Conway, NH; three brothers Frank Smith of Medway, MA, Bruce Smith and his wife Joan of Millville, MA, and Christopher Smith and his wife Cheryl of Oppenheirn, NY; three sisters Linda Leonte and her husband Val of Medford, MA; Deborah Smith of Dracute, MA, and Sandra Simmons and her husband Robert of Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 26th at 1:00 pm at the Wood Funeral Home, 9 Warren Street, Fryeburg, ME.
